First i have to say that i'm not an expert, so i just give my way to make a render of one model. That work also with several models in the object file.
If you have any questions, i'll try to help but ask in a comment, so people could also read.

For those who want better tutorial, i learnt to make a render by Snipergiirl. Her tuto is in portuguese, you can find in her gallery :

After you've done this part, don't forget to save your blender project in : "file=>save as"
Then i'll make the next part
